Sanofi: A1CTV

We were asked to create patient videos featuring real people living with diabetes. Patients were booked and the shoot was scheduled when we were asked to come up with an idea. We came back with A1CTV, Community TV for the Diabetes Community.

Built around our amiable diabetic host Erron Jay, A1C TV is a variety show with diabetes baked in. The foundation segment of A1CTV is UNSUGARCOATED, a roundtable discussion at Erron's desk, the anchor point of A1CTV.

Guests gather 'round and hash out issues impacting people people living with diabetes today; travel, convenience, media representation, healthcare, insurance, money, family, food, and movement, to name but few topics. It's from this desk that Erron introduces us to the other segments of A1CTV.

"If I knew then..." is a profile segment that helps people learn from other's experiences.

"The very least" is a lighthearted look at being a little more active. Erron and Bryan share a few simple tips that can help them 'get back to it' at home.

"I have diabetes. Let's eat!" is our cooking and food segment. Set in a stylized kitchen, patients share recipes and food tips that help them navigate the blood sugar maze of diabetes.

Each segment is less than five minutes long and presented in such a way that the viewer gets a 'chocoloate box' of relevant content for people living with diabetes. There are an estimated 30 million people living with diabetes in the United States today, with about 3,000 more joining their ranks each year. This is a population is seeking community, empathy, information and support wherever they find it. Sanofi sees value in filling that need by cultivating trust as well as cultivating sales. So instead of creating advertising for insulin, we created a TV network for people living with diabetes. We created A1CTV Community TV for the diabetes community
